We will be taking our first WDW vacation in October 2016. We have one child, a son, age 5. We are planning to spend 2 days doing the theme parks, the first day being Magic Kingdom. What would you recommend for the second day?

    Hi, Nicole!
Thanks for reaching out to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm excited for your family's first visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

My son was almost five-years-old on his first visit. I will always remember how his senses were overwhelmed at first. Saucer eyes and all! Once he relaxed and took in the fun at Magic Kingdom Park, he loved every single bit about our Disney adventures. (He's a teenager now and still looks forward to our trips.)

After a day in the Magic Kingdom, ask yourself the question: Does your son love Star Wars or does he love animals more? That will help you decide between Disney Hollywood Studios where there are many fun Star Wars experiences and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park where there are so many ways to soak in the animals at the park. Both of my kids say they love Hollywood Studios the most, but Animal Kingdom comes very close. (Especially since their favorite roller coaster is Expedition Everest.)

I hope that insight helped you choose your second park during your visit. I hope you have an incredible vacation! Let me know if you have any additional questions as you plan your trip.
