    Hi, We are taking our first trip to wdw july 19th. We are not sure what to expect with the weather and what would you recommend to wear to the parks? Are the evenings cool?

    Hi Lisa,

    Hooray for first trip to Walt Disney World! July is going to be hot, humid and crowded. However, this should not stop you from having a good time on vacation.

    Disney does a good job of keeping you cool. All table service restaurants are air conditioned and most of the seating for counter service have air conditioning as well. While some attractions do have air conditioning, some like Splash Mountain have partial cooling. Animal Kingdom is the most difficult place to find cold air as it is a natural habitat for the animals. 

    I would wear shorts, lightweight shirts and comfortable walking shoes. Many people make the mistake of wearing flip flops and they have tired feet. A waterproof walking shoes also work well. I usually wear Birkenstocks to walk around.

    You will get a little relief in the afternoon with a thunderstorm in the afternoon so bring a poncho or umbrella. The evenings will be humid so the only jacket you may need is in the restaurants if you getting chilly by the air conditioning.

    Remember to drink a lots of water!
