We are taking our first trip to Disney next September. When planning out our days, is the schedule for the extra magic hours out prior to the 180 day dining reservation opening?

    Hi Laura,

How exciting that you're planning your FIRST visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! You're planning nice and early, which I think is fantastic not only because it will help you put together an incredible trip, but because planning is half the fun and the anticipation of your vacation will only add to your experience!

While the calendar is generally updated 180 days in advance, I have a shortcut that will show you park hours, Extra Magic Hours, and even parade and fireworks times 190 days in advance instead! This will give you plenty of time to put together the perfect itinerary before your dining reservation window opens. All you'll need to do is log in to your My Disney Experience account and click on "My Itinerary." From there, you'll want to click on "Add Plans," then choose "Add Parks & Places." Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo! When you click on the calendar at the top of the page, you'll automagically have access to planning information 190 days ahead of time!

Some restaurants are very popular and fill up pretty quickly, so I'd definitely recommend making your reservations as early as possible. You'll be able to begin making reservations 180 days ahead of time by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 beginning at 7:00 a.m. Eastern time or by booking online as early as 5:45 a.m. Eastern time. If you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you'll be able to make reservations for the entire length of your trip, up to 10 days.

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Laura, and please feel free to come back and ask us more questions as you're planning your trip. We're honored to help make all of your vacation dreams come true with your first visit to the most magical place on earth!
