We are taking our first trip to Disney Jan 17-Jan 24, 2009, two adults, two 11 year old boys. Our flight will put us at Disney around lunch time, what do you suggest to do that first day, and what other tips can you give me on thing to do?

Don't count out going to a park that first afternoon. Take a look at the cost of adding another day to your tickets. It often is not much of an incremental expense, and gets you another day in the parks.

If, however, you are like my family, you may enjoy a slower start to the vacation. We usually begin at the resort pool or one of the water parks. Maybe with two boys you rent some watercraft for the afternoon at the Downtown Disney resort marina? Pair either with a special dinner (Aloha Show or Whispering Canyon) to kick off the trip in the right style!
