We're taking our first Disney Cruise in June 2014. We plan to add a 5 day stay at DW after the cruise. Does Disney provide transportation to Port Canaveral for those staying at a resort after a cruise? If so, would you recommend it or drive yourself?

Welcome aboard, John! Adding a resort stay at Walt Disney World to your cruise vacation is such a wonderful way to add even more magic to your trip!

I highly recommend booking Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation from the airport to Port Canaveral before your cruise and from Port Canaveral to the Walt Disney World resort after your cruise. Though there is an additional charge of $35 per person each way, I promise it is worth every penny. Disney takes care of all the details and makes your transition from land to sea and back again very easy and stress free! Plus, the kids will be well entertained on the bus as they are treated to Disney cartoons along the way.

Another perk to using this service is that you can check your luggage at your home airport and not see it again until it meets you in your cruise stateroom. Then, as you depart the cruise, your luggage will meet you in your resort stateroom. One less hassle for you means much easier travels!

If you call Disney Cruise Line, they are happy to assist you with booking the ground transportation as well as your resort stay and park tickets. However, if you want to take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan or an advertised special promotional rate for the resorts, you'll need to book your resort stay directly through Disney Parks, as unfortunately, Disney Cruise Line cannot make those additions on their end.

Good luck as you continue planning your Surf and Turf adventure with Disney. Please stop back here with any other questions you might have before you set sail, John!
