We are taking our first Disney cruise on 4/7, which will also be our first cruise with our 7 month old. We were wondering about excursions with a baby-- will we need to bring his carseat and base with us? Specifically getting around Nassau? Thanks!!

Welcome aboard, Kathleen! Congratulations on booking your very first Disney cruise! Setting sail in just over a week, you must be getting very excited!

Disney makes every effort to ensure that cruising with a baby is as easy as possible, and this includes their specially planned Port Adventures. If you are thinking of venturing out in Nassau, I'd highly recommend booking one of Disney's Port Adventures, especially since you'll be traveling with your little one. On most of Disney's Port Adventures, guests travel in a motorcoach which has no seat belts, so a car seat and base wouldn't be able to buckle in. Most Disney guests with babies choose to hold their little ones on their laps on these motorcoaches. Other transportation around Nassau, such as taxis, do not have the right types of connections or seat belts for car seats, as the safety laws are different there than in the U.S. So, personally, I always feel more comfortable on one of Disney's specially planned excursions on a motorcoach, as these are safer than traveling in a taxi on our own without car seats.

The Atlantis Beach Day would be a great option for your young family. This adventure is stroller friendly too. A less expensive option still allowing you to see that amazing resort would be the Discover Atlantis Port Adventure, which is also stroller friendly. Of course, you could always just explore the port area and the straw market which is just a short walk from the port. Then, no transportation (except the stroller of course!) would be required!

Have fun as you plan those last minute cruise details, Kathleen! Enjoy your cruise!
