We will be taking our first Disney cruise in April 2018. We need to fly from Dallas to Miami. I already paid for the Disney ground transfers but is it best to book our flights through Disney too? Is it cheaper to book the flights on our own? Thanks.

Welcome aboard, Cassie! Isn't it great to have a spring adventure with Disney Cruise Line to look forward to? Since this is your very first cruise with Disney, there is even more magic in store for you because everything will be a brand new surprise! I can't wait for you to experience it all!

I'm super happy to hear that you've opted for the Disney Cruise Line Ground Transfers. Disney offers these transfers from the airport to the cruise port in each port of call. My family and I take advantage of letting Disney do the driving. They make it super easy. Did you know that they also partner with resorts in each home port, so that guests who fly in the day prior can book a stay there and use Disney Ground Transfers from the airport to the resort. The next morning, Disney will take their luggage to the ship, straight from the resort, while the guests enjoy the resort for the morning and then are taken to the ship. It really couldn't be easier!

As far as flights, my family and I usually book ours on our own, but Disney has taken care of booking them for us a few times as well. You may call the agents at Disney Cruise Line 60 days prior to sailing at (800) 951-3532 with flight questions and get an idea of price and then compare it to what you can find. Sometimes they're able to find a better price than I can. But other times, I have found the better price for the specific desires we have as far as flying times and dates, or I just want to book earlier on my own, so it depends. Just book the flights in whichever way is easiest for you!

Have so much fun planning the details of this cruise, Cassie, and please stop back throughout this year as you continue to plan, if you have more questions. We're happy to help!
