Ahoy, Kimberly!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I know you don't want to think about the cruise being over, but it's smart to plan ahead since your flight is at 10:00 p.m. I have a few suggestions, and the first one applies to you if your family is cruising out of Port Canaveral and has booked
ground transportation through Disney Cruise Line. For Guests utilizing ground transportation, Disney offers an
Onboard Airline Check-in program. If you aren't sure if your airline participates, please give Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532. The Onboard Airline Check-in program allows you to check your luggage onboard sending it directly to the airport on disembarkation day. Once you place it outside your stateroom door, the night prior to your arrival at Port Canaveral, you won't see it again until you land at your home airport. You'll completely bypass baggage claim at the cruise terminal. It's important to remember to keep a day bag with important items like your proof of citizenship, medications, electronics and your "Key to the World" card.
The other option you may want to consider is renting a car from a nearby rental car agency like Avis or Alamo. They offer shuttles to their offices located near the port and should allow you to drop at the airport after your day of touring the area.
I hope one of my ideas will work, Kimberly! Please let us know if you have any other questions as you countdown to July!
