Ahoy, Amy!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love your idea to decorate your stateroom door for your grandson's birthday! I've celebrated my birthday twice aboard Disney Cruise Line, and both were extra magical. On my birthday sailings, I was surprised with the Birthday Theme Cabin Decorations, and it put a huge smile on my face every time I entered our stateroom! This is available for purchase in the
Gift and Amenities Section and does include a Happy Birthday door magnet. In the Gift and Amenities Section, you'll also find a downloadable form to purchase a Celebration Cake that can be delivered to your stateroom or to the dining room during your
rotational dining experience. Cake orders must be received no later than seven days prior your departure.
If you decide to bring your own door decor, it must be magnetic as any type of tape or adhesive is prohibited (gel included). I've had luck with finding fun Disney Cruise Line themed magnets to decorate our door on Etsy, and there are lots of options to personalize them. The only time you'll run into a problem with the magnets is if you are sailing in a Concierge Level room as the doors on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are wooden.
Good luck with finding the perfect pixie dust to add to your stateroom door for your grandson's birthday, Amy! And don't forget to stop by Guest Services to pick up a birthday button that he can wear for your entire cruise! The cast, crew and other Guests will all want to wish him well!
