    Taking my fiance for his first trip in November '14 for 6 days the week before T'gvng. Which resort would you suggest for budget conscious 30 somethings? Was thinking POFQ, but they aren't included in discounts usually. Too many kids at Value resorts??

    Hi Amanda!

    Selecting a Disney resort is probably one of the most difficult decisions to make when planning a Disney vacation!  Disney's moderate resorts offer guests well appointed guest rooms and amenities for the budget conscious traveler.

    ​Personally, I would suggest either Disney's Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter.  Having enjoyed vacations at both resorts, I can say they are beautifully landscaped and boast amazing decor evocative of Southern tranquility and Louisiana Mardi Gras! Located on the banks of the Sassagoula River, both resorts offer guests enjoyable experiences in both ambiance and themeing. I find that POR offers guests the opportunity find more cozy/quiet spots along the banks of the river, however, as it is larger, there are longer walks to amenities/dining.

    POFQ is smaller than its sister resort, POR.  It is more compact, and guests are able to access buses and food courts, as well as the ferry and Doubloon Lagoon in a quicker fashion than at POR. It really is no more than a five minute walk from any building to the food court or pool.
