DH and I will be taking my family (bro and sis-in-law, and parents) to the Animal Kingdom Lodge next October. Is the on-property "safari" worth the money? I know it includes dinner at Boma as well. Do you recommend it? Thanks!

    Hi Ashley,

Amazing choice on the resort. Animal Kingdom Lodge is a breath-taking experience from the moment you step inside the towering lobby. The property has an amazing calm and peacefukl feel to it and the views of the grounds and animals are stunning from almost every location throughout the resort.

The Wanyama Sunset Safari is an amazing experience! The Safari allows a limited number of guests onto the serene plains of the Animal Kingdom resort property just prior to sunset on select evenings. The tour is a long slow drive that allows guests to peek into a number of hidden areas that are typically off limits to guests and designed for the animals. The tours features a personalized guide to point out interesting animal facts and stories, answer questions and help offer you a very up close and personalized look at the amazing animals living there. You will find yourself face to face with a number of creatures for some amazing pictures. The safari itself averages about sixty to ninety minutes.

Following the safari, your group will head to Jiko for a delicious dinner. The meal is a great selection of some of their most popular appetizers and desserts served family style for a great sampling by all, then of course the mouth watering entrees. If you have yet to dine at Jiko, it is an experience like none other and the selections are delicious and unique and unforgettable (especially the filet). The meal is served with a selection of wine choices and the easily the cost of the meal covers the fee paid for the safari itself.

It is certainly an experience well worth the cost and something you will never forget. I am sure you will have a great time!
