Taking the extended family to Disney, 10 total, including my mom, who needs an ecv/scooter to get around. Trying to decide between Coronado springs and cabins at wilderness. Will there be a difference for her? Concerned about getting to bus stop at cabins

Hi, Linda!  Okay, I want to tell you, speaking from experience, that if I were bringing my dad down to Walt Disney World, knowing he had mobility issues, I would probably not choose either of the two resorts you are considering.  Both are pretty spread out - Coronado is downright sprawling - and if you are going to rent a scooter only to use at the theme parks, your Mom may have some difficulty with both resorts.

If you are bringing your own ECV, or renting one that you will have at the resort with you, I would probably choose Coronado Springs.  The resort paths are wide and easy to navigate, and even in the evening, everything is well lit.  There are paved areas at Ft. Wilderness, so you will be able to get back to the cabins, but things are a bit more rustic feeling there.  I think I'd be more comfortable with my dad at Coronado Springs.

For something a bit smaller and easier to negotiate with mobiity issues, I'd recommend Port Orleans.  I love the French Quarter, and it seems that nearly every buidling is just a short distance from the main things - food, buses, swimming pools.

I also want to make a quick pitch for you to consider either a Disney Vacation Club resort or the Art of Animation Resort.  You'll find accommodations for bigger families with either a family suite (up to six guests) at the Art of Animation Resort, or one of the villas at a DVC property.  DVC villas that are one bedroom or larger also give you a full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, and a washer and dryer!  Art of Animation has a mini refrigerator and a microwave, plus each suite has two bathrooms - great to have with a group.

    I hope this helps!
