Angelice from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Would taking engagement photos be allowed at Disneys boardwalk?

    Hi Angelice!

Welcome to planDisney, and congratulations on your happily ever after!  I can't think of a better place to celebrate your engagement than with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

Angelice, while Guests are always welcome to take personal photos during their visits, the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules do not allow unauthorized commercial photography.  If you have a family member take a few pictures with your phone or personal camera during your visit, that would be fine, but professional photographers would not be allowed to join you at Disney's BoardWalk for an engagement photo session.

I know this may not be the answer you were hoping for, but I can share a few alternatives to consider.  Recently, Walt Disney World began offering Signature Portrait Sessions, which are available at both Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  Currently, this experience costs $399 (prices subject to change) and includes a 40-minute photo session as well as photo retouching and digital downloads of images from the session.   Additional information, including how to book your session, is available on the Walt Disney World website.

Capture Your Moment photo sessions are available in each of the four theme parks as well, if you'd like to consider one of those options.  These are currently priced at $99 (prices subject to change) and include a 20-minute photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer.  Photo downloads are not included with these sessions, but your photos will be included with Memory Maker if you have purchased that option for your trip.  It’s also important to note that valid theme park admission is required for Capture Your Moment sessions.

While you're visiting Walt Disney World, there are several great restaurants to choose from for an engagement dinner after you finish with your photographer.  One of my favorite places to celebrate special occasions is at California Grill inside Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Not only is the food delicious, but the fireworks views from Magic Kingdom Park are absolutely stunning!

I hope this information has been helpful, Angelice, and I'm sending buckets of pixie dust to wish you a future full of love and laughter as you celebrate your engagement!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!

    Cheers!
