Am I able to purchase Premier Passes on event days at Magic Kingdom? We will be there on a day when regular hours end at 6:00 for MNSSHP. We would like to do all of the rides before the party begins.

    Boo-to-You, Susan!

Welcome back to planDisney!  I'm so excited that you'll be heading back to Walt Disney World Resort later this summer to get a jump start on the fall festivities.  I love all the fall decorations throughout Magic Kingdom Park and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a favorite of mine, featuring frightful fun all night long!

With so much to see and do at Magic Kingdom, I understand wanting to figure out the best way to maximize your time in the park.  Lightning Lane Premier Pass is a great idea, but since Lightning Lane entrances are only available during regular park hours, please keep in mind that you must have valid daytime theme park admission to be eligible to purchase this pass - not just a ticket for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  If you have a daytime ticket for Magic Kingdom and are staying at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection, you can plan to purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass starting seven days before your check-in date!

When my son and I attended the party last year, we arrived early to enter the park right when we were eligible at 4 PM.  We used those few hours before the party began to ride a few rides and grab dinner.  Once the party began, we turned our attention to attractions with party-specific ride overlays, such as Space Mountain and Mad Tea Party, and saved rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train until later in the evening when wait times were lower.  My favorite way to end the night is with the last showing of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular - which for us began right as the clock struck midnight.  Even without Lightning Lanes we were able to experience so much during our eight hours in the park!

As you get closer to your trip, you'll want to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as well for more information that may be released about the happy haunts that await you during your visit!  One of my most anticipated posts each season is the Foodie Guide, which will highlight special Halloween treats offered during the party and throughout the parks and resort hotels.

I hope this information has been helpful, Susan, and that you enjoy a bibbidi-bobbidi-BOOtiful time at Walt Disney World!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    Cheers!
