We taking the Dream from Fort Lauderdale in April and unfortunately the two hotels DCL recommended are booked. Are there other recommendations to streamline our pre + post planning to/from Fort Lauderdale airport, hotel, port and back using DCL transport?

Hi there, Barbara! Welcome to planDisney.

I sailed from Fort Lauderdale for the first time a few months ago. I was impressed by the abundance of activities available! I hope you take some time to explore the area and bask in the beautiful white sand beaches before embarking on your Disney Cruise Line adventure.

Like you, I like my vacation to be as hassle-free as possible. There are lots of hotels in the area that offer shuttles. A quick online search revealed that Comfort Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport provides complimentary shuttles to the airport and the port. Hyatt Place, situated near the art museum and the Museum of Discovery and Science, also offers a shuttle service. Rodeway Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport also provides a free shuttle and a complimentary continental breakfast.

Personally, I would rely on my hotel shuttle to reach the port and utilize Disney Transportation for the return trip to the airport. Make sure that you verify shuttles are available when you book your hotel. If you have already reserved Disney Ground Transportation, a reservation agent can help you modify your reservation.

There’s nothing more exciting than the anticipation of a Disney Cruise! I can’t wait for you to experience all the magic that awaits. If you need help planning Port Adventures or other onboard fun, please sail our way again. We are happy to share our best tips and experiences with you!
