We are taking the Disney Wonder from Honolulu to Vancouver from Feb 24 - March 5, 2025, and we are wondering if this sailing will include fireworks at sea. We need to temper our kiddo's expectations.

    Ahoy there, Jesse!

Welcome aboard and thanks for your question! I am all about knowing what to expect on a trip, so I think you're very wise to be preparing your family for what is on the horizon. I'll be happy to help!

The current schedule for your sailing shows Pirate Night right in the middle of your cruise on the 5th evening and it does look like those scallywags will be packing some pyrotechnics with them. That said, the captain gets the final say on whether the conditions are right to launch fireworks that evening. Pirates are always up for an adventure, but we still want everyone to be safe! Either way, the deck party will be a blast.

With nine glorious nights on the Disney Wonder, you will have plenty of time to explore one of my favorite ships! You'll want to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App so that you have the schedule of activities for each day. Some of my favorite things to do on a cruise are:

    • Visit the open house for Disney's Oceaneer Club and Disney's Oceaneer Lab! You will definitely see open house hours on embarkation day, but there may be other times during your cruise when those areas are open to everyone.
    • Catch a movie on Funnel Vision at Goofy's Pool or in the lovely Buena Vista Theater. I love watching a nautical-themed movie up on the pool deck as we sail along, especially as the sun sets!
    • Meet some special characters! It's so fun to be at sea with Captain Mickey and his pals. Keep an eye on the app to know when your favorites will be visiting and where you can find them!
That's just the start of all the activities you'll see on the ship. From trivia and family games to Broadway-worthy shows, I promise you'll have lots to do!

In my opinion, one of the best parts of cruising is room service. Most items are included in your cruise fare, so don't be shy! I love having a snack during our afternoon break or finishing our day with one last sweet treat before bed. If you have a room with a verandah I definitely recommend ordering a few things to start your morning...even if you decide to head to a second breakfast later!

Wishing you and your family a spectacular cruise, Jesse!

    Keep moving forward!
