We're taking the Disney Wonder to Alaska in August. My granddaughter really, really, really wants to see Ariel. Will she be onboard?

Welcome aboard, Sandra! Your whole family, but especially your granddaughter must really be looking forward to a magical cruise with Captain Mickey and his crew later this summer! If your granddaughter loves Disney Princesses, she is in luck, as many of them will be onboard the Disney Wonder when you set sail to Alaska!

Though characters are always subject to change on the ship, most likely she can expect to meet Ariel onboard. She has been onboard the Alaska sailings so far this summer, so I hope that she'll be on your sailing in August! If your granddaughter is a big fan of Ariel, she might also like to know that each ship has a statue of a Disney character in the lobby, as the centerpiece of the atrium. The Disney Wonder features Ariel as the centerpiece in the atrium. That will certainly make for some great photo opportunities with your own little princess!

Watch your Personal Navigator (the onboard schedule of events), as most likely you'll find one or two opportunities to enjoy the Princess Gathering. During this event, four or five Disney Princesses gather in the atrium to meet guests, take photos and sign autographs. The line for this gets very, very long! My daughter and I like to arrive about an hour before it begins, grab a spot at the beginning of the line, and sit down for the hour or so to write postcards. It's great because by the time we're done writing to friends and family back home, the princesses are about to arrive! It's better to do this so you can sit down and stay in one spot, versus showing up when it's about to begin and finding you'll need to wait in line, inching your way along, for an hour or so. This is the only character greeting that has lines that long, so don't worry, but do plan it right for this event! Hopefully Ariel will be one of the princesses at this event too!

Have fun planning, Sandra, and enjoy a magical Alaskan sailing with your granddaughter!
