Taking a Disney Magic Cruise in November ... what is the status of taking power strips along on the cruise?

Welcome aboard, Deborah! I bet you are excited to set sail on the Magic this November! You're very lucky because your family will be one of the first to experience the all new re-imagined Disney Magic! The Magic is about to undergo an exciting renovation and will be setting sail at the end of October for its first cruises after being re-imagined! With new spaces for kids, adults and the thrilling new AquaDunk, you're surely in for one magical sailing!

Disney Cruise Line does not allow guests to bring their own extension cords onboard, however an extension cord can be borrowed from Guest Services if necessary. I wasn't sure if power strips fell into that same category, so I checked with an agent at Disney Cruise Line who let me know that guests may bring power strips, but not extension cords. If you choose to bring a power strip, however, you must take it to Guest Services to have it inspected by an onboard electrician. Guests must obtain this permission as the electric onboard is not the same as at home, so stricter requirements are in place. As long as your power strip is approved, you are free to use it. However, if it is not approved by the electrician, please do not use it as it may cause a fire hazard.

Have fun as you continue to plan your cruise on the Magic, Deborah! Let me know if I can help with anything else!
