Hello! We are taking a Disney Cruise out of Galveston, TX in February on the Disney Magic. We are flying in the night before the cruise leaves. Is there transportation from Houston to the port? Do we have to stay at a certain hotel? Is there a cost?

    Hi there, Brian!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I am glad you are figuring out the ground transportation for your Disney Cruise ahead of time. It will simplify your embarkation day!

Guests sailing on a Disney Cruise who book their pre-cruise hotel through Disney Cruise Line can typically book ground transfers (for an additional fee) between the airport, hotel, and cruise port. Reservations at three hotels are currently offered in Galveston (subject to availability) - Houston Airport Marriott at George Bush Intercontinental, The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center, and Hilton Galveston Island Resort. You can view information about the different hotels on the Galveston page on the Disney Cruise Line website. Just call a friendly Cast Member at the Disney Cruise Line to reserve your hotel and transportation!

Flying in the day before your Disney Cruise is a good idea to prevent travel issues from impacting your vacation! On debarkation day, Disney Cruise Line recommends that Guests flying out of George Bush Intercontinental Airport book flights that depart no earlier than 1:30 p.m. When speaking with the Cast Member about your pre-cruise hotel and transportation, you can also discuss transportation options for returning to the airport after your cruise.

Also, make sure to check out this helpful Packing List! I always pack a sweater for dinner each night, as it can get a little chilly in the restaurants. After looking over the Packing List, you may also want to review the Prohibited Items List

Brian, have a fantastic voyage! Please contact planDisney again if you have other questions!

    Happy sailing!
