Taking DD for an 8th b-day SURPRISE (very short) trip. Thought about BBB but want more time in the parks. Can she get a princess 'do or something similar at Harmony Barbershop? We have limited time and will want to be in MK as much as possible. Thanks!

Hi Kelsey! What a magical 8th birthday your daughter is going to have! Both of my kids had their first haircuts at the Harmony Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom -- a trip there is so much fun! The Barber Shop does offer quick hairstyles for girls that usually involve pigtails or ponytails with a generous dose of colorful glitter. (The styles used to include colored gel, but it seems that the gel hasn't been available recently so I can't guarantee your daughter could get that.) The styles aren't as princess-like as those at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but they're really cute. Because the Barber Shop is small, you may have quite a long wait if you walk in, so I recommend you call 407-WDW-DINE to make an appointment in advance.

If your daughter really loves princesses, she may prefer the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. To maximize your park time in the Magic Kingdom, consider booking an appointment at the Boutique first thing in the morning, prior to the park opening. That way you'd be able to take a few photos on a nearly empty Main Street USA and have your daughter transformed into princess just in time for the park opening. (A makeover there takes 30 to 45 minutes.)

Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're always happy to help!
