I am taking my daughters (4 and 5) to CRT, PSD, & 1900 PF on thier first trip to DW. Do you think the'll notice there are different 'Cinderella's' and other princesses? I'm worried some of the magic will be lost if they see different looking CInderella

An excellent question. Much like seeing Santa at the mall, you always wonder how much children "get" about the concept of characters. In my experience with 4 and 5 year old girls, the belief in the character is really all about the costume. If they see the blue dress and the blonde hair and the tiara, then they see Cinderella. I don't think the face under the hair and tiara really even registers with them. It wasn't until my girls were a few years older than yours that the questions started coming.

A big part of keeping the magic going lies with you. Obviously you won't want to be pointing out to your kids that Cinderella A is any different from Cinderella B. And I always try to help the "face characters" (the ones, like the princesses, that will talk to you) in their interactions with my children. For example, if we've seen "Cinderella" at breakfast and then encounter "Cinderella" again at dinner, I will say something to the character like, "Oh, we had such a good time with you at breakfast this morning." And then, "Cinderella" will say something like, "How lovely to see you again." Once the kids hear this, any possible question of authenticity disappears (for a 4 or 5 year old). The face characters are all extremely good at their jobs, they will work with you very hard to maintain the magic.

    Hope this helps
