Hi! We are taking my daughter (and 13 yo son) to WDW over Christmas. This is for her 16th birthday, in lieu of a big party. Her real bday is Jan 15..that's when she'll be 16. Is it ok to make one day for her to celebrate? Any suggestions? I need help!

Hi, Alisa! I always like to tell people that if you're celebrating something, Walt Disney World is celebrating right along with you.  Of course most people can't be in the midst of the magic on their actual birthday, so celebrate your milestones while you are there!

I would ask Miss Sweet Sixteen what she would like to do for her birthday.  Is she a girly girl who might enjoy a spa treatment, afternoon tea, and a fabulous dinner?  Maybe she's not so prim and proper and would rather do a Wild Africa Trek behind the scenes of a Disney Animal Kingdom safari.  For my daughter's Sweet Sixteen trip, she wanted to park hop to all of her favorite shopping spots, then have dinner at the spectacular California Grill.

There are a variety of Disney Back Stage Tours and special events.  You might want to choose something a little unique that follows her interests.  Whether it's a tour that takes you to the mysterious underground utilidors at the Magic Kingdom or one that takes you walking through The Land at Epcot, there is something for everyone among the speciala tours.

A great way to cap off this special birthday would be with a Disney Specialty Cruise.  You can bring the celebration onboard your very own pontoon boat.  When it's time for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom or Illuminations at Epcot, you'll have the best seat in the house.

Happy birthday to your birthday princess, and I hope you find the most magical way to celebrate!
