Ahoy, Stephanie!
Last September, I convinced my in-laws to cruise for the very first time with us on the amazing Disney Fantasy. We were on a 7-Night Western Caribbean cruise, and they absolutely fell in love with all things cruise-related! I remember that they were a little concerned with what we would do all day on the ship. They soon learned that there are plenty of fun activities for all ages!
On a 4-Night cruise on the Dream, you can expect to see everything from wine and whiskey tastings to fun family pool games to animation classes to Disney Trivia, and so much more! There are board games in the 687 lounge if your dad likes to play games. There might be a cooking demonstration, that would be something to visit guest services to ask about as soon as you board the ship.
I bet your mom would love a trip to the
Senses Spa & Salon for a nice hot stone massage or fire and ice pedicure. Your whole family can enjoy the Broadway-style shows in the evenings and the wonderful cuisine in the main dining rooms. If your parents want to splurge, they can always try the adult-exclusive restaurants, Palo and Remy. I highly recommend booking a reservation at Palo for brunch on your day at sea, it's my favorite!
And, the best part of every cruise on the Disney Dream is the stop at
Castaway Cay, Disney Cruise Line's private island! We love to just relax and enjoy the sun and sand there. If you are feeling adventurous, parasailing high above the ship gives you a view like no other.
I hope this helps to ease some of your dad's concerns. And, if he is still on the fence, tell him it's DISNEY and they know how to do cruising right!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
