We are taking our daughter to Disney for her 5th birthday (Dec. 29th).We decided to go Dec.7-15 because it was MUCH less expensive and less crowded than the week of her birthday. Will she still get the special birthday treatment:)

If you're celebrating your birthday, then Disney is celebrating your birthday, no matter what the actual date is. And I think you've made an excellent choice in coming a week early to celebrate your daughter's special day. The crowds will be MUCH lighter then than they will the week after Christmas, but you will still be able to experience all the wonderful decorations. What you should do for your daughter is go to the guest relations office at one of the theme parks and ask for a "Today is My Birthday" button. These are sometimes also available at the resort concierge desks and park ticket windows. Just pick one day during your trip as your celebration day. You should also tell the front desk of your hotel and the servers at any table restaurants you visit that there is a birthday in your group. While this is not guaranteed, very often the birthday girl (or boy) will get a small card or balloons left in the room or a free cupcake for dessert. I hope you all have a wonderful trip!
