We are taking a cruise in March on the Disney Magic with family. My son is 12 and will be 13 in August. I was wondering what he is going to be able to do? His sister is 7 and cousins are boys 6, 14 and 15. Obviously he wants to be around older cousins

    Ahoy Candice!
Before you know it you will be navigating your way around the majestic Disney Magic! The warm ocean breeze will feel heavenly after the cold Indiana temperatures you've been experiencing. It will be an unforgettable vacation for you and your seafaring crew!
Your question is always a hot topic for cruisers who have young sailors close to the next age group for Disney Cruise Line's youth programming. My children are very close to their cousins, so I completely understand your son wanting to be with his 14 and 15 year old boy cousins during your vacation. Policies can always change, but I have heard that a child can move up to the next level with a waiver signed by the parent and if open spaces are available in that particular club. Please note that this will need to be discussed with the Vibe Youth Program Manager onboard to see if your son's age will be considered for a move. My advice is to stop by Vibe on the first afternoon of your vacation during the Open House hours to see if the manager is available to discuss your son's situation.
If your son is unable to join his cousins in Vibe, you will be happy to know the boys will still be able to enjoy each other's company while aboard. For example, they can shoot hoops, play soccer or dodge ball on the Wide World of Sports Deck, take a plunge in Goofy's Pool, eat all the pizza they want at Pinocchio's Pizzeria or my son's personal favorite, drop down three stories on the exhilarating AquaDunk! They can also hang out together in any of the youth spaces when Open House hours are offered. Designated times will be scheduled each day to allow Guests of any age to experience any of these facilities. So rest assured, the boys will have an amazing vacation on the Disney Magic no matter what they choose to do!
Thank you for stopping by with your question, Candice! If we can assist you further, please let us know!
    Have a "magic"al day!
