Taking 1st cruise on DD next Oct. Traveling with 7, 5 & 3 yr. old sons. What times are the shallow water dolphin encounters? What excursions at Nassau are good for this age? Looking for something 1/2 day rather than full based on their stamina.

Welcome aboard, Erin! Congratulations on booking your very first sailing with Disney Cruise Line! You and your boys are in for such a magical experience on this adventure at sea!

I highly recommend the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon in Nassau. I hear that the dolphin swim and encounter at Atlantis are fabulous too, but my daughter and I had the best day ever when we got to swim with the gorgeous dolphins at Blue Lagoon! When you begin your online check-in (75 days prior to sailing for first time guests), you'll be able to view exact Port Adventure departure times for your sailing. But, to give you an idea, our options were 9:30 and 12:30, for our dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon. We met our guide and the rest of the group onboard the ship and all walked off together to board the ferry boat to Blue Lagoon. The boat ride itself will be a lot of fun for your young boys! I recommend the earlier time, if it's still available when you begin online check-in. This way, you can be up and off the ship to experience the swim early and have the opportunity to stay and play at the beach at Blue Lagoon and grab lunch there afterwards if you'd like. If not, simply catch one of the continuous ferry boats from Blue Lagoon back to the ship at whatever time you're ready to go! You can even just do the the dolphin swim and head straight back if you'd like, but I would recommend at least exploring the beautiful island a bit first! The nice thing is that you have options to decide on the fly based on how your boys are doing at the time.

At Atlantis, all of their Port Adventures include transportation back to the ship that is available every half hour, so if you choose something there, feel free to return whenever your family is ready too!
    Happy planning, Erin!
