I will be taking our children on a Western Carib cruise but my husband isn't coming along. Do I need to have a letter with his permission to take the kids on the cruise? I know some countries request a letter when you travel internationally. Thank y

Welcome aboard, Karen! How exciting that you'll be setting sail on a Mommy-Kids trip with Disney!

As long as you are a parent or legal guardian of your children, you shouldn't need an additional letter from your husband to set sail.

In fact, though my husband and I have have sailed multiple times with our kids, I did take my son on a special Mother-Son getaway on the Disney Magic to the Western Caribbean earlier this year. It was so nice to spend that time just the two of us! I did not need to present anything other than my son's passport as well as my own. If your children don't have passports, you will need to show their birth certificates.

Disney does have Minor Authorization Forms that need to be filled out when children are traveling with an adult who is not their parent or legal guardian, but since you are the parent, you do not need any additional forms. My son and I had a wonderful cruise together and didn't run into any issues at all since I am his mother, even though my husband was not lucky enough to join us on that sailing.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan for this exciting trip, Karen!
