Kimberly,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Table beds at Walt Disney World are just that. Beds that fold up into the wall to reveal a table.
So, if you have ever seen a Murphy bed, it is a bed that pulls down from the wall. In the case of these 'table beds', when the bed folds up into the wall, from underneath the bed the platform unfolds to create a small table. Typically, they are big enough for 2-4 people to sit together. At resorts like
Disney's Pop Century Resort, these table beds free up a lot of space for a family of four in the hours before they go to sleep. The photos currently shown for a standard room at Pop show this with the bed up in the wall, and the table in place.
I know that the family suites at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort use them as well, and the theme-specific art on the tables really captures the spirit of the resort. They have also been recently added to some rooms at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort and
Disney's All-Star Music Resort.
On a personal note, sometimes bed contraptions like these can be pretty uncomfortable. But from personal experience I can share that you cannot tell the difference between this and the other standard bed. It is very comfortable. Plus, when you have a family of four in a small hotel room, it can get pretty crowded. These table beds really make the room more livable, and I love them!
BONUS TIP
At the Value hotels the rooms can start to feel a bit crowded when the whole family is crowded in there, getting ready for bed. If you need a quick break, consider a visit to the pool bar. At Pop Century the
Petals Pool Bar is a quieter sanctuary for a drink and maybe time to catch the scores on the bar TV.
