Switched from Dream to the Magic! We now have cabin 8598, category 4E. When I booked I was told it was an extended verandah, but other than it having a solid white rail, what does that mean? Is it bigger w better views? It was more $, so is it better???

Welcome back, Mindy! I'm excited to hear that you were able to switch your cruise to sail on the Disney Magic! You had mentioned before that your son is a huge Avengers fan, so he will have an absolutely amazing time enrolling in the Avenger's Academy in the Oceaneer's Club!

The new updates to the Magic certainly look amazing, and those are only artists renderings. Just wait until the work is complete and you get to experience all of this first hand! I'm really excited for you!

I checked with Disney Cruise Line about the category 4E. The 4E on the Dream and Fantasy is actually an extended verandah (meaning the verandah is larger and sticks out farther on the side of the ship), but the 4E on the Magic does not have the extended verandah. The reason there is a slight price difference in the 4E on the Magic is because the stateroom itself is a bit bigger. There will be a solid white wall so that you will have beautiful views when you are standing to look out at the ocean, but seated, you will not be able to see through the railing. I know you are going to love this stateroom though. You have a nice spot on the ship and you'll be just a few staterooms down from the Aft elevators, making it easy to get wherever you need to go on the ship.

I hope your family is following along with the Disney Parks Blog, as that is one spot where you can keep up to date with the updates to the Magic this fall. You'll want to check out any news they have to share about all the excitement you can expect on that ship when you sail!

Let me know if you come up with other questions as you begin planning this new cruise vacation, Mindy!
