Hiya, Lisa! I'm so glad you found the trail of pixie dust that Tinker Bell left out for you and followed it back here to planDisney!
Oh boy, it sounds like you have a truly magical vacation ahead of you! When making my travel plans to
Walt Disney World Resort, my husband and I often like to make split-stays where we start our trip at one resort, then switch to a second resort! This is such a fun way to multiply the magic.
Lisa, I'm happy to let you know that luggage transfers between
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are still being provided through Bell Services! The only items that Bell Services cannot transfer are perishable items. When you check out of your first resort, bring your luggage to Bell Services prior to 11:00 AM. In fact, if you're planning on visiting a park on your transfer day, you may want to visit Bell Services earlier rather than later since there can sometimes be a line.
After you check in to your new resort, call down to Bell Services from your room and see if your luggage has arrived yet. If so, great! You're able to pick up your luggage from Bell Services at your new resort. Please know that luggage transfers may take several hours, so you'll want to make sure you have all your important gadgets and gizmos a'plenty with you on your person. Even though this transfer does not include a fee, I like to tip the person handling my bags for their help and kindness.
When my husband and I have a split-stay during our
Walt Disney World Resort vacation, we try to have a couple of extra items with us on our transfer day: specifically, sunscreen for the parks, an extra t-shirt or two, and even our bathing suits (in case we want to take a dip in the pool of our new resort before our luggage arrives!). This way, no matter how long it takes our luggage to get to us, we're all set and ready to go for the day. I also like to make lunch plans at our new resort so we can immediately sample everything that it has to offer!
Lisa, I hope this helped answer your question about luggage transfers between
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. If you have any other questions, please fly your magic carpet our way again. After all, you've got a friend in me!
Your Fairy Godmother in Planning,
Michelle
