Hi there, Kirsty, and welcome back to planDisney! Thank you so much for trusting us with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning questions. We're honored that you're here!
Kirsty, I'm so glad that you're planning to take advantage of the
Disney Dining Plan during your vacation. It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of dining plans because of the value they provide my family and the peace of mind they bring me. When you visit a table service restaurant, you'll want to consult your Server about any unique options or restrictions at that particular dining location. Your Server will be happy to walk you through items that are included in your dining plan and they'll let you know if any items would be outside of what's included. At this time, there is not an across-the-board substitution allowance for meals, snacks, appetizers, drinks, or desserts. Occasionally, a Server might give you the option to swap one item for another, but I would not rely on that flexibility at every restaurant.
Be sure to make your
Advance Dining Reservations 60 days before you check in to secure your spot at table service restaurants! My family loves having a table service meal during our time at the
Disney Theme Parks because it gives us dedicated time to relax, recap, and recharge to finish the day strong. We also love to use the
Mobile Food & Beverage Order feature of the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. This helps us save time since we can place our order in advance and pick it up at a time that's convenient for us. Pro tip: place your order while you're waiting in the queue for an attraction!
Kirsty, I hope this is helpful to you as you continue to plan your vacation. If you have any other questions about how to get the most bang for your buck with your dining plan, or if you'd like any recommendations on where to find fantastic meals and snacks, you have a friend in me! Please stop back by planDisney anytime!
Bon appetit!
