    Surprising my son with a trip in November for his birthday. If he does the lightsaber building, does Disney ship them home or am I going to have to figure a way to get it home? Does it come apart to ship?

    You are going to have one happy kid when he learns he gets to build his very own lightsaber! Whether you go all out at Savi's Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and build a custom lightsaber or create your own at Star Wars Trading Post in Disney Springs, he will surely be one with the Force when that saber is complete.

    My experience with shipping items from the Walt Disney World Resort has been so easy and carefree that I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to send goodies to friends, a surprise to family, or those that just don't want to fit their purchases it their luggage.  I have generally indicated I wanted to ship items while purchasing them; that process has been fast and easy.  However, I expect your young man may not be so eager to part with that lightsaber so soon after making his wondrous creation.

    There are Ricoh Business Centers in multiple locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort that can ship your purchases for you for a fee in the event that you cannot ship your lightsaber at the time of purchase.
