I want to surprise my adult son with a Disneyworld trip, but- there is a chance he won’t be able to go due to work. Am I able to change dates and reassign the tickets to someone else, if he can’t use them?

Hello there, Tammy! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out and asking your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort is fun for children of all ages! While schedules can sometimes be a bit difficult to navigate as your children grow older, it is so rewarding to spend time with your adult children at “The Most Magical Place on Earth”

Fortunately, it is incredibly easy to change around many different aspects of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation after you have booked it! As long as a ticket has not been used yet, you will be able to reassign it to another person in your Friends & Family list. In order to do this, you will need to visit the “My Reservations” section of your My Disney Experience account. From there, simply locate the ticket you need to reassign and select the “Reassign Ticket” link directly to the right of the ticket. Keep in mind, tickets may not be reassigned after their first usage, though!

You will also find changing your reservation with the Disney Resorts Collection to be a breeze as well! Again, you can do so online through your My Disney Experience account on the “My Reservations” page. Once you locate your reservation, click the “Modify Reservation” link. From here, you will be able to alter the dates of your travel as well as which Disney Resort hotel you are staying at. Additionally, this is also where you can add any new discounts that appear on the “Special Offers, Deals, & Discounts” webpage after you’ve booked your stay!

If you haven’t already done so, I also recommend checking out the “Know Before You Go” webpage for any updated policies that may impact your visit! This webpage contains a wealth of information that can assist with navigating any modified experiences. This includes how to make your theme park reservations through the Disney Park Pass system that you will need prior to your visit!

Best of luck as you continue to plan your magical surprise trip to Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to let us know if we can answer any additional questions for you!
