I have had surgery and cannot be lifting or pulling suitcases or walking extreme distances i inquired about the "scooter" you see at resort and basically couldnt find out much info on renting this thourgh the resort do you have any suggestions ?

    Laurie,

ECVs (Electric Convenience Vehicles) are available for rental from Disney at the four theme parks. You can find them as you enter each park, where you would rent strollers or wheelchairs.

However it seems that you really need one for more than just during your park time. What you should do is rent one from an Orlando area company that will deliver it to your resort on your arrival day, and then pick it up afterwards.

I have not used one of these services personally, but have heard that Care Medical Equipment is a good service. You might also check some of the unofficial Disney forums or review sites, like at DIS Boards or All Ears.Net to see what other companies that other ECV renters prefer.

I think that this will make your vacation far smoother and more enjoyable. You can ride all day long, giving your body a bit more time to recover from surgery, but still getting to enjoy your wonderful Walt Disney World vacation!

    Have a magical vacation!
