Hi there, Luis!
Chef Mickey's at
Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of the most popular dining experiences at
Walt Disney World. With some of your favorite characters, a perfect location, and darned good food, it's become a must-do for a lot of guests - including this grandmother to three huge Mickey fans. It can be frustrating, especially when you have an important event like your son's birthday, to find the restaurant fully booked.
My first suggestion is to keep trying. As frequently as you can during the day, check your
My Disney Experience app or online to see if a dining reservation has become available. Plans can change up to the last minute, so you might luck into an opening when someone cancels.
Second, is there any flexibility in your schedule? In addition to breakfast, Chef Mickey's has a pretty awesome dinner as well. The good thing is that you can use Disney transportation to hop over from a theme park, then return after you eat.
Another suggestion is to consider another restaurant. The
Garden Grill at EPCOT features some of the same characters you would see at Chef Mickey's, and so does
Tusker House at Disney's Animal Kingdom. You might be able to find a spot there.
If all else fails, using your My Disney Experience app on your phone, you can check for a last-minute reservation with
Mobile Dine Walk-Up availability - just click "now" when it asks when you want to dine.
My fingers are crossed that you get something special for your little guy!
Anna
