Hi Gareth!
Welcome BACK to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We're so excited that you're excited about returning to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I too stayed at
Disney's Contemporary Resort for the first time last month, and oh Gareth - you're in for a real treat. The lobby smells fantastic, there are a number of transportation options, and the dining is all incredible. Soak it in and enjoy!
Disney Transportation tends to mirror the schedule of each park every day. Generally speaking, the
Monorail will continue service until about an hour after the last monorail-connected park closes for that day. It should still be running during Epcot's
Evening Extra Magic Hours, however it never hurts to have a backup way home, especially after enjoying all that Epcot has to offer.
Each
Disney Resort Hotel has a Bus that visits Epcot, so on your way out should the monorail be tucked in for the night, head to the left of the exit area where you can catch a direct bus 'home'. Buses run until two hours after each park closes for the night, which also includes Extra Magic Hours. So feel free to jump in a queue with seconds to spare before the park winds down, and do so knowing that your carriage option hasn't turned into a pumpkin just yet.
(Side note - if you take the Monorail from Epcot only to arrive at the Ticket and Transportation Center to find the second Monorail you need to get back to the Contemporary
is asleep, there are also Contemporary bound buses from the TTC.)
We'll See You Real Soon, Gareth!
