Suggestions for a Walt Disney World resort for a family of 8 (2 adults, 6 kids) that isn't too pricey? I only see rooms up to 6 adults. Are connecting rooms the only option?

    Hi Ashley,

Greetings from a fellow mama of many! I'm excited to hear that you're planning a Disney adventure with your family. We've found the Walt Disney World Resort to be the perfect vacation destination with kids of various ages because there's not only something that everyone loves, but there are so many experiences that we can all enjoy together. Your family is going to have a BLAST and make memories that you'll all cherish for years to come.

While you're correct that the Family Suites and Cabins hold a maximum of six Guests (plus one child under three), your family would fit perfectly in a 2 Bedroom Deluxe Villa. They offer a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, a second bedroom with either two queen beds or a queen and a magically comfortable pull-out sofabed that sleeps two, plus a living room with another super comfy sofabed that sleeps two. Some villas also offer a sleeper chair in the living room that sleeps one. You'll also find a full kitchen, patio or balcony, and in-room laundry, which not only allows you the space to prepare some meals, but you'll be able to spread out a bit and really feel like you're at home away from home. Of course, you're exactly correct that you also have the option of requesting two connecting Disney Resort hotel rooms as well. (Just a tip...in "Disney speak," connecting rooms are two rooms that share a door in between them while adjoining rooms are nearby, but may be across the hall or diagonal, so you'll want to be sure to ask for connecting rooms.) While room requests cannot usually be guaranteed, large individual family units are always given priority when it comes to room selection, and Cast Members will do everything they can to make your stay practically perfect in every way. You're going to LOVE staying right in the middle of the magic and taking advantage of all of the wonderful perks, and I'd encourage you to keep your eye on the Special Offers page for any discounts to help you stretch your Disney dollars.

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ashley, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip. I hope that you and all of your Mouseketeers have a truly magical vacation!
