I am struggling between the Art of Animation and Coronado Springs. We have two girls ages 3 and 5. I know they would love the theme of the A of A and the Mermaid room, but didn't know if we were better off at a Moderate Hotel with a free dining plan?

    Hello Jeff!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! It is my pleasure to assist a fellow Georgia resident. I can certainly understand your dilemma. Choosing a Disney Resort hotel is one of the biggest decisions my family makes when planning a Walt Disney World vacation. Having stayed at both Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in the past, I can honestly say that you are considering two great resorts for your upcoming trip.

I have personally stayed in the Little Mermaid Standard Room and loved the immersive storybook theming and attention to detail found throughout the entire resort. That being said, the Southwestern-theming at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is quite lovely as well. I did find the amenities and recreational activities to be comparable at both resorts. If your girls really enjoy the pools, the moderate resorts feature a slide; whereas, the value resorts do not. I also prefer the Quick-Service restaurant, Pepper Market, at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.

Although I agree that your daughters would love Disney's Art of Animation Resort for the storybook theming, it would be very hard to pass up the Free Dining Promotion, if available. Because my children have always enjoyed our stays at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, I would recommend staying at a Disney Moderate Resort that offers the Free Dining Promotion.

I hope this helps in making your decision. Please don't hesitate to visit us again with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical trip!

    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
