Are there any strollers on the market that can handle a 5 (almost 6) year old? My wife and I figured on renting this year, but quickly realized that I will be carrying him from the park to the bus and to the hotel room. If we rent, single or double?

    Hi Brian,

This is a good question.  Since I have been out of the stroller market for a few years, I am not sure what would be a good purchase to bring into the parks for touring. I would think something lightweight, with a canopy and compact should do the trick especially on the buses.

However, when my princesses were five, we found the stroller to be cumbersome in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios as they would only get in them to and from the bus and between the various sections of the parks-Fantasyland to Frontierland for example.  EPCOT and Animal Kingdom are still a good place to have a stroller though.

As for single or double, I think single should be fine.  The strollers hold a fair amount of weight and are easy to push.  You can not prepay for your entire week with the stroller and you can transfer the rental from one park to another.  I also saw that the stores in the parks are selling an umbrella stroller and it was reasonably priced.

    Enjoy the magic!
