Hi Susy!
Welcome to planDisney! After twelve years of traveling to the
Walt Disney World Resort with strollers, we have finally aged out of the stroller situation. It was certainly a family milestone a few months ago when my 8-year-old had her first visit on her own two feet! I have visited the theme parks with all manner of strollers and I do recommend that people consider bringing a stroller for kids who may not routinely use one at home. A day at the Walt Disney World Resort can be a lot of walking, even for adults. While my kiddos may be okay without a stroller for a trip to the local shopping mall, a day of 6 to 10 miles of walking in a theme park can be a bit too much for tiny feet!
Per Florida law, all strollers must be unoccupied and folded before boarding a
bus. Even if a little one is sleeping, you will need to plan to lift your little one out and fold the stroller. I highly recommend a stroller that is light and easy to fold and carry onto the buses.
If you’ll be taking the
Monorail, you can roll the stroller directly onto the Monorail, and not need to fold the stroller. Depending on the route and type of vessel, some forms of
water transportation allow you to keep your child in their stroller, and
Disney’s Skyliner also allows little ones to stay in their seat while you roll the stroller directly into your gondola.
I hope this helps as you plan your visit with your family, Susy! Please let us know what other questions we can answer as you plan your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
