    i had a stroke and have trouble with my left side after i walk for awile. It says there are wheel chairs available at the resort should i call ahead and reseve one when i book my room? i dont want me or my kids to miss anything because of my lack mobilty.

    Hi Cassandra!

    Walt Disney World does a wonderful job of accommodating guests with mobility issues. They have wheelchairs available at all four theme parks as well as Downtown Disney. Wheelchairs are available for rent at guest services/strolled rentals. The cost for rental is $12 per day at the theme parks, and $12 per day plus $100 refundable deposit at Downtown Disney. Wheelchair rentals are not available at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.

    Keep in mind that wheelchairs are only available for use at the theme parks. They cannot be removed from the parks, nor used at the resorts. If you are looking for a “duration of stay” rental, I would recommend contacting an independent wheelchair rental company, such as Walkermobility.com. They will deliver your wheelchair to your resort, and the rates are very economical.  This way you would be able to keep the wheelchair for the entire stay and use it at the resorts as well, which may be a better fit for you.
