Hey, Lisa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for sending your question to us! Now more than ever, there are delicious health-conscious options to be found in the theme parks and resorts. Satu'li Canteen in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is one of my favorite lunch locations. Their Slow-Roasted Sliced Grilled Beef and Chopped Wood-Grilled Chicken Bowls are a fantastic choice and can easily be modified as you wish. I recommend you use the My Disney Experience mobile app to go ahead and look at the posted current menus of some dining locations you may visit in order to help you plan ahead for your meal choices.
At most Quick Service and Table Service dining locations, side items can be substituted with steamed vegetables and salads. You can also ask for dressings or sauces to be omitted or left on the side. If at first you do not see something that fits your needs, I want to encourage you to ask for the chef, especially at buffets. They are more than happy to talk with you and discuss your options.
Last year,
several of us chatted with the Disney Parks Blog and shared some of our helpful hints for finding meals that are practically perfect in every healthy way. My friend, Missy, shared about her favorite Energy Salad at Epcot's Electric Umbrella and I can confirm it is a fantastic option!
Lisa, if you would like to bring in some of your own foods, you are welcome to bring in a small soft-sided cooler. The cooler just needs to be smaller than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. Also please note that you will need to bring reusable ice packs to keep the food cool, rather than loose ice, which is prohibited at this time.
Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions!
