Howdy Hey Dennis and welcome to planDisney!
October is a boo-tiful time to visit
Walt Disney World Resort! Not only will you be able to enjoy all the Halloween decorations, you will be there for
The World's Most Magical Celebration. If you are able, I highly recommend
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This special event takes place on select evenings at
Magic Kingdom. Party-goers not only have the chance to enjoy most of their favorite attractions but there are plenty of spooktacular extras like trick or treating and
Mickey's Boo to You! Halloween Parade.
What a great idea to start your day at
Disney Springs. We did this exact same thing on our last trip. We were able to enjoy a great meal, do some light shopping and sneak in a trip to
Gideon's Bakehouse before the other guests began to roll in. Most locations at Disney Springs open at 10am EST, although select locations, like Earl of Sandwich opens at 9am EST. You will want to check the
hours of operation for the specific day of your visit.
While you can use the complimentary
Disney Resort Transportation from any of the Walt Disney World resorts to Disney Springs, there is not an option that goes from Disney Springs to the theme parks. No worries though, once you are finished eating and shopping, all you need to do is grab a Disney bus from Disney Springs to a resort near your selected theme park. For example, Magic Kingdom is one monorail stop away from Disney's Grand Floridian or a brief walk from Disney's Contemporary Resort. Want to head to
EPCOT? Grab a bus from Disney Springs to Disney's Beach Club Resort and from there it is a short ferry ride or a brief walk to The International Gateway entrance. If
Disney's Hollywood Studios is on your agenda for the day, head over to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and grab the
Disney Skyliner to Hollywood Studios, and for wild adventures at
Disney's Animal Kingdom, you can visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and then grab a bus to the theme park. Another fun option is to take the D.V.C. ferry on the short ride from Disney Springs to Disney's Old Key West Resort and from there you can grab a bus to any of the 4 theme parks.
We actually love using these "connections" through other resorts as we get to visit the resorts. Did you know they all have their own unique design and theme? We often use these brief visits to help us pick where we would love to stay on our next vacation. If you have any questions on the easiest option, the Disney Transportation Cast Members will be happy to help. If you have any further planning questions, I hope you will
stop back and see me.
Wishing you a magical time!
Margaret
