Ahoy Rosa!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am excited to hEAR you will be sailing to the
Bahamas on your upcoming Disney cruise!
There are many
Port Adventures available for you when your Disney Cruise Line ship stops in
Nassau. When possible, I always recommend booking your onshore tours through Disney's Port Adventures team as the peace of mind of knowing the tour has met Disney's standards is invaluable to me.
It is possible to explore the island on your own if you prefer. Specifically in Nassau, there is a straw market just outside the port terminal that is lovely to visit. Just like when visiting any new place, be sure to be alert of your surroundings and mindful of any valuables you are carrying with you.
Disney Cruise Line does not have a private beach in Nassau, but Junkanoo Beach is nearby and if you don't mind a walk can be accessed on foot from the port. Taxis are available at the port if you are interested in visiting another part of the island. Be sure to agree upon a taxi fare prior to leaving the port.
If you are looking to visit the Atlantis resort, there are Port Adventures available which include transportation and entrance fees. Port taxis can also take you to the resort. It is some distance away from the port and not somewhere I would recommend going on foot.
If your cruise includes a stop at Disney's private island,
Castaway Cay, you will have access to a beautiful beach here that is exclusive to guests on your sailing! Sometimes my family stays onboard to enjoy the ship while we are in Nassau and uses our stop at Castaway Cay as our beach day.
Sail back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any more questions as you plan your adventure.
"Sea" ya real soon! Angie
