Ahoy, Amy!
You are talking about my most favorite Port Adventure EVER, the
Island Tour and Snorkeling with Stingrays!!! This Port Adventure takes you on a short driving tour of Georgetown, with a quick stop at "Hell", a unique place in Grand Cayman. You can have a postcard postmarked from "Hell", which my daughters thought was hysterical. You might even get lucky enough to see the devil himself and snap a photo with him.
Then, the mini-bus will transport your family to the Cayman Islands Turtle Farm, where you will get to see sea turtles of all sizes. You might even be lucky enough to hold some sea turtles and go into a shallow pool with these amazing creatures. There is also a breeding house where you can see the turtle eggs.
The best part is coming, though. After your visit with the sea turtles, your bus will take you to a pier, where your family will board a boat. The trip out to the Stingray Sandbar is about thirty minutes. I suggest picking up a snack at the Cayman Islands Turtle Farm to eat on the way out to the sandbar. Once you arrive to the sandbar, the water was no deeper than four and a half feet. It was as shallow as three feet. Our guide entered the water with us and "caught" one of the stingrays for us to interact with. Then, we had the chance to feed the stingrays all around us. While there was snorkel gear available, no one really did any snorkeling.
This Port Adventure is still talked about in our household. We hope to return there on one of our upcoming cruises. It was our "best day ever".
I hope this helps with your cruise planning. Please visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again as more questions surface. I look forward to seeing you again real soon!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
