Is there a sticker or something where I can write my phone number in case my child wanders away from me?

Thanks for bringing a great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Paula!

The first time we brought our daughter to Walt Disney World Resort was for her third birthday, and this was one of my primary concerns, too. I found a great set of kids’ waterproof safety tattoos online and ended up using those for her. Just search online for “child safety tattoos” and you’ll find lots of options.

Another suggestion would be to search for “kids ID bracelet.” My husband, daughter and I all wear some sort of iteration of these whenever we’re in the Theme Parks. My husband and I both have ID tags that slip around our watch bands, and my daughter’s is a silicone bracelet with a metal tag attached with her information. The silicone bracelet I purchased for her is specially made for children, so it fits her little wrist quite well.

If your child will be wearing a MagicBand, their name will pop up whenever a Cast Member scans their band. You can also write in Sharpie or create a label to stick on the inside or outside of the MagicBand with your contact information, too. Additionally, I would recommend pointing out what a Cast Member name tag looks like and what the Security Guards’ uniforms look like each time you see one. We did this with our daughter, and she knew from an early age who to find for help if we ever got separated. We also located the Baby Care Centers in each of the Theme Parks and the Lost Child centers in each of the Water Parks so she knew where they were and what they looked like as well. I would also recommend taking a picture of your child each day before you head into the Theme Parks so you always have the most recent photo (including the outfit they’re wearing).

My mom’s motto has always been “If you have it, you won’t need it!” We’ve applied that philosophy to safety, too, and so far we’ve never needed to activate those emergency protocols. It’s always a great idea to be prepared, though!

Please let us know if we can offer any additional tips or tricks to help you and your little one enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Paula. We hope to see you real soon!
