We are staying at the Yacht Club in November. Do you think it is faster to walk through Epcot and catch the monorail to MK or take the bus? Thanks!

    Hello Kerry,

We're so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel today!  Disney's Yacht Club Resort is such a wonderful place to stay.  I love the nautical theming, splash-tastic Stormalong Bay pool area and proximity to both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

While both transportation options will certainly get you from Disney's Yacht Club Resort to Magic Kingdom, my vote on this one would be the bus.  That's a more direct route and will almost certainly save you some time (and energy!).  The bus ride itself is about 20 minutes and since buses run approximately every 20 minutes, I'd estimate 40-45 minutes to be on the safe side.

On the other hand, if you head over to Epcot and walk through the park to the monorail, it will easily take more than an hour.  The walk from the Yacht Club to the International Gateway (located between the France and United Kingdom pavilions) is about 10 minutes, from the International Gateway to the monorail at the entrance to the park about 20 minutes, and the time to wait for and travel to the Magic Kingdom on the monorail another 45-50 minutes (remember that you'll need to depart at the Transportation and Ticket Center and switch monorails).  In all, that will set you back at least 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Keep in mind that you'll also need to be sure that you're traveling through Epcot during normal operating hours and you will need to have a ticket that allows you to enter more than one theme park in a single day, like a Park Hopper or Annual Pass. Of course, if you're craving fish and chips from the Yorkshire County Fish Shop at Epcot or want to catch a quick ride on Spaceship Earth, I'd completely understand wanting to take the Epcot route!

I hope that helps with your planning, Kerry.  Wishing you a magical vacation in November!  Mickey can't wait to see you!
