    Hi! Staying at Yacht Club in August, now having back issues, not sure how much walking I will be able to do. To get to Soarin' b4 world is open, walk from YC around showcase or take boat from Morrocco? Do the boats run before showcase is open? TY for help

    Hi, Marianne! 

    I'm so sorry to hear about your back pain. I do have a few suggestions to help make your stay more enjoyable by minimizing the amount of walking you'll need to do. To get to Soarin' in Future World in the morning, you will not need to walk all the way to the Morocco Pavilion in World Showcase - instead, you can take a complimentary water taxi right from the boat dock at Disney's Yacht Club Resort! The water taxi will bring you to the dock at the entrance to World Showcase (near the Port of Entry shop). This will greatly reduce the amount of walking you'll need to do to reach The Land Pavilion where Soarin' is located. 

    The Walt Disney World Water Transportation service normally begins 30-60 minutes prior to park opening and runs up to 60 minutes after park closing. So if Epcot (Future World) opens at 9:00 AM, water taxi service will start between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. The water taxis normally arrive and depart at 15- to 30-minute intervals and they are accessible to Guests using wheelchairs and motorized scooters (ECVs). You can also take a water taxi directly from the Yacht Club to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

    If you find that you are having difficulty walking around the theme parks, you may want to consider renting an ECV for at least part of your stay. I had a serious knee injury back in April just before my recent visit to Walt Disney World and I found that having a scooter helped me tremendously - I was able to spend an entire day at Epcot exploring both Future World and World Showcase. ECV rentals are available on a daily basis in the theme parks or from a reputable outside company that will deliver the scooter directly to your resort.
