Hi, Amanda! Thanks for coming to the planDisney Panel for vacation planning advice! We're honored to help.
You are going to love
Disney's Wilderness Lodge! The Imagineers and architects modeled it after the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park. On your way to the boat dock, you'll notice an artificial geyser on the resort grounds, which erupts hourly. However, one of the most impressive focal points is the Lodge's magnificent lobby and its 82-foot fireplace. You'll see a roaring fire every day, even in July!
Like you, I often like to request rooms at Walt Disney World Resort, and I agree that being on an upper floor almost always leads to a better view. While
online check-in through your
My Disney Experience app is convenient, the drop-down list usually only provides a couple of options. If you want to make requests that are not listed on the app, you can call (407) 934-7639 and ask a Cast Member to add the information to your reservation. Alternatively, you can send a fax to the resort, which is the method I usually use; the fax number for Disney's Wilderness Lodge is (407) 824-3232. Send it about a week ahead of time, and include all your contact information and reservation confirmation number. Remember to prioritize just one or two things- I have experienced better success when I keep my requests simple. Also, unlike a booking category (for example, Lake View or Theme Park View), requests are not guaranteed, but the Cast Members often like sprinkling a little pixie dust when they can. If you arrive early in the day, let the front desk know that you want to prioritize your room request over your room being ready.
I hope this helps, Amanda! If I can offer one more piece of advice, do not miss the Bison Cheeseburger at
Geyser Point Bar & Grill- I promise you won't be disappointed (if you're not a meat eater, the Grilled Portobello Salad is tasty, too). See ya real soon!
