    Staying at the Wilderness Lodge next month - I was told to take a taxi to Magic Kingdom in order to make the 8:05am reservation at Crystal Palace- on a day with regular hours at Magic Kingdom. Is this something new??

    Karen,

    While taking a cab is certainly an option, I think you may find that it is not necessary. Here is what I would recommend you do;

    When you check in to the resort, speak to the transportation desk. Tell them of your timed reservation and ask them what is the best option. They can tell you if the boat routes from the Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom will start early enough for you to use that to get there. Typically if the primary means of transportation won't get you to a breakfast reservation, they will be able to offer a secondary option.

    You asked if this is something new. Well, for a few years now the official word was that transportation to any park starts 1 hour before that respective park's opening. So it is entirely possible that you might have to rely on this alternative option. During April the Magic Kingdom usually opens at 9. That means that officially the boats and buses start at 8. Clearly if that is the case that means that the boats would not get you there in time. The transportation desk will be able to get a confirmation if boats will start early enough, or will get you that secondary option.

    Or at the very worst they will tell you to catch a cab!

    I hope that this has helped? Write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
